The Extron DA 8V/4V Dual EQ and DA 12V/6V Dual EQ are high-performance, composite video, dual distribution amplifiers. They feature long cable drive capability and
individual gain and equalization (EQ) adjustments (for every two outputs) to optimize the picture for displays at significantly different distances from the DA EQ. Each model
has a toggle switch that enables the unit to function as either a single DA or as two DAs in a single enclosure.

Adjust the potentiometers (pots) for the outputs, using an Extron Tweeker.
If you are using very short output cables, all pots should remain at the unity gain
position (the arrow on the pot pointing to the dot beside it; see the illustration below).
Outputs are adjusted in pairs. The illustration
shows potentiometer settings for outputs 1 and 2.
If using long cables, follow these steps:
1. Supply the Color Bars test signal to the input.
(Recommendation: Use an Extron VTG 300 Video Test
Generator to generate the test signal.)
2. Adjust the Gain pot for outputs 1 and 2 until the signal level at the far end is the
same as the input (or the display shows the correct brightness and contrast).
3. Adjust the EQ pot for outputs 1 and 2 so that no overshoot or round front
corners appear at the far end on the scope (or you see a sharp picture with no
smearing).
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for the rest of the output pairs.

Single/Dual Mode toggle switch — Switches the
unit between Single and Dual mode.
• DA 12V/6V EQ: Switches between operating as
one 1-input, 12-output DA with active loop-out (up),
and two 1-input, 6-output DAs (down).
• DA 8V/4V EQ: Switches between operating as one
1-input, 8-output DA with active loop-through (up),
and two 1-input, 4-output DAs (down).
Single/Dual Mode Switching
Loop-Thru/Input B connector — This female BNC
connector functions as an input when the DA 12V/6V
or 8V/4V Dual EQ is operating in Dual mode.
When the unit is in Single mode, this connector
functions as an active loop-through.
